Gypsy Wolf Cantina - Woodstock, NY

Wonderful little Mexican restaurant right on the outskirts of Woodstock. I had a great chicken burrito and a Mexican beer!

Woodstock Earth

Great little shop in town, complete with bubble blower that blows bubbles all day.

Hancock Shaker site

I stopped again on Saturday to take a few more pictures at the Shaker Village in Hancock. It was the first sunny day we'd seen in weeks. The afternoon light was just beautiful.

Atop Mt. Greylock, MA

Curt and I rode the Harley up Mt. Greylock yesterday afternoon. The weather finally cleared for the weekend, so we took full advantage of it. It was beautiful up on the mountain with views in all directions.

Hancock Shaker Village - Hancock, MA

Pictures taken from the road of Hancock Shaker Village right outside of Pittsfield. I also took some film pictures, and when I develop them, I want to compare them with these digital shots.

Putting up the jam

I did some serious strawberry picking yesterday, and I'm happy to report that it yielded me 24 jars of jam, plenty to give away to friends and family.

Ralph Lieberman opening - Williams College, MA

Curt and I went to the photography opening of a friend of his, Ralph Lieberman, a professor at Williams College. His images are outstanding, his printing beautiful. I wish I could show some of his work here, but as it was, I was reprimanded by security for taking this picture. Also at the Williams College Museum of Art are two exhibits of Edward Steichen: Episodes from a Life in Photography and Edward Steichen: In High Fashion, The Condé Nast Years, 1923-1927. Again, stunning images and printing. After the opening reception, Ralph took a few friends and colleagues, Curt and I included, out for a wonderful dinner at a local restaurant. It was very exciting...everything a summer's evening in the Berkshires has to offer. I was very grateful to Ralph for including me in the festivities.

Cathedral of All Saints - Albany, NY

The Cathedral of All Saints was the first Episcopal cathedral in America to be conceived and built on the English model of church, hospital, convent and school. The brainchild of William Croswell Doane (1832-1914), first Bishop of Albany, the Cathedral was intended to recreate and literally imitate its English prototypes right down to the ancient pavements and stones. I am fortunate that this church is literally on the same block as where I work, so I am able to go there whenever I want to. Yesterday I stopped in, and as usual, there was not a soul in sight, so I snapped a few pictures. It is truly a beautiful cathedral. http://www.cathedralofallsaints.org

Firefighter's Convention - Lake George, NY

Matt is 3rd from the right. Their company looked very sharp.

Matthew in full dress uniform

My son Matthew is a volunteer firefighter with the Shaker Road Loudonville Fire Department. The Hudson Valley Volunteer Firefighters Association had their annual parade this past Saturday in Lake George and Matthew marched with the colour guard. I was very, very proud of him. He looked so handsome in his uniform. Luckily, the rain held out and it was awesome!

She just couldn't contain herself :-)

Shaker Road Loudonville Fire Department float

Their hook and ladder is affectionately referred to as the "Big Kahuna" hence the Hawaiian theme for the float. My son looks good in a grass skirt, huh!

still pouring but everyone is swimming

Let the fun begin...

So what if it's raining outside....the water is a warm 85-90 degrees and once one person went in (or should I say thrown in by my son #2) everybody joined in. They had a blast!

A bit wet

My daughter's graduation party down in Cranbury, NJ. It's been raining all day, non-stop. You'd think that would hinder the festivities, but nope...we all had a great time.
